Just a mixture of multiple samples i created over time. Layering a swish noise which was basically a white noise sample with an eq envelope, lowpassed snare, and a not-so-highpassed clap, compressed and saturated. Enjoy!.

Layered a nice snare, some noise, clap, and even a really pitched up kick( like 24 semitones up) to get this sound. Added in some tape saturation and compression(rough rider) and voila, i made a dirty snare. :).

Some background noise (fridge) is left in for noise removal. I prefer to get raw audio from freesound i can process myself - gives me maximum options, that's why i deliver the same. This is a crusty old tape i found. Field recordings possibly made maybe in the 70's or 80's. The end of the tape is weird i think he recorded a dog panting or maybe its a cat purring but has slowed it down. It sounds cool and i always wanted to use it for something but never quite managed to make it fit.

Dybby am chord made on modular synth. The 3 voice oscillator mfb osc-03 is tuned to an am chord (saw tooth wave) (tuned by ear. . . ). The sound is going to an uoki-toki polivoks filter in band pass mode and to a vca. From vca to zoom ms-70cdr tape echo effect and back to modular and into the ladik r-330 reverb. From reverb to mixer and out module to computer and audacity. And to you :-).

Just some noise of my casio as-51r cassette player i had left over when i had taken what i was after from my recordings. Perhaps there's some use for it, i honestly don't know, but i thought i would upload in case someone needs it. Recorded with a samsung galaxy s21, edited with audacity 2. 4. 2.

A technical problem i had with my technics stereo cassette desk rs-5 where playback would deliver this fading squarewave at maximum volume. Apparently, it could have been an issue with the tape header wearing out. Thought i might as well upload it here, as i'm not sure anyone will be able to create this sound again. Note, this sound was de-amplifiied by 10 db in audacity 3. 1. 3. Simply put, the raw file was incredibly loud. If you're curious enough, you can increase it back up to its original volume, though i wouldn't advise it.

Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

I picked up a home-grade reel to reel machine at a thrift store and and this is the tape which was in it. A father sends messages from home to his son in the u. S. Navy during the vietnam war, including fatherly advice about cars and shopping overseas and anxiously awaiting his sons return. He provides sample fodder at 14:19 about musical gear lust and otherwise provides an insight to the times. As no parties in this recording are explicitly identified, and while i did not record this, i am the de facto owner of the recording at this point and think it best to preserve it by posting it here as cc0. 180hz notchfilter(60x3)otherwise untouched.

Since my ears can't hear any frequencies above 14khz (please remember to wear ear defenders around loud machinery! thank you. <3), i can't hear tape hiss very clearly, and are afraid i might overdo the volume.
